The Foster Care Eligibility Handbook procedural guide numbering system has been changed to accommodate additional sections as the role and responsibility of the Eligibility Worker and Technical Assistance expands. This revised numbering system allows room to expand. The alphabet "E" denotes the Foster Care "Eligibility" Handbook, the three-digit numeric "010" denotes the section in the Foster Care Eligibility Handbook and the four-digit numeric "0000" denotes the Procedural Guide.

The change affects the number listed at the top of each procedural guide. All revised Procedural Guides published after May 2000 shall have the new number assignment. Procedural Guides published prior to May 2000 will indicate the old number assignment until a revision is made. Both numbers will appear on the Table of Contents.
